Morphun Makes Learning More Fun.
KinderMaths uses Morphun’s numbered 1-10 tiles with special spotted yellow tiles with 1-10 spots as well as Morphun's great construction bricks as the basis for a wide range of beginner level maths exercises. Teachers know that most kids start counting with their fingers, and the change to numbers can for many children be slow and difficult. This game works from that base of finger counting through to counting with spots and then to numbers on tiles. The split change into two stages makes that change so much easier to do.
Of course the students in a class will work harder and concentrate more with a maths game like this than with traditional teaching, so results should improve.
The set will
- Encourage the children to count with spots rather than fingers
- Teach the children that counting is important and understand length and height as examples of this
- Teach the children that numbers and spots and fingers are just different ways of counting
- Introduce addition and subtraction sums.
- Provide multiplication and division signs for further development as needed.
16 A4 language free photo copiable work cards are available with exercises covering counting, height, length, addition and subtraction. Multiplication and division signs are also provided. The 43150 set has 259 pieces and the larger class set 43151 has 524 pieces.
